Social Enterprise & Social Entrepreneurism

Strategy Outline

Social Enterprises are businesses that trade for a social purpose. They are often charities and not-for-profits that have moved in the direction of trading and using business techniques. Their characteristics include explicit social aims, commercial orientation, social ownership, social accountability, socially entrepreneurial drive and use profits for community benefit.

Social entrepreneurs use entrepreneurial principles to organise, create and manage a venture to achieve social and environmental goals.

TTF will consider a limited number of applications to support significant social enterprises which fit TTF's other Strategy Goals, e.g. Housing.

All applications under this Strategy are made directly to the Foundation via online application.
